2024 Chevrolet Tahoe Engine Specs

2024 Chevrolet Tahoe Towing Capacity

Load up and go with the 2024 Chevy Tahoe. When properly equipped with the available Max Trailering Package, every engine can tow at least 8,200 pounds. Some trailers the Tahoe is suited to tow include fishing boats, many enclosed utility trailers, pop-up campers, and small horse trailers. To accomplish this, you get a standard trailering hitch platform with a 2-inch trailer hitch receiver, a seven-wire electrical harness, and a seven-pin connector.

2024 Chevrolet Tahoe Drivetrain

Each 2024 Chevy Tahoe engine comes paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. Two-wheel drive (2WD), which sends power to just the rear wheels, is standard on all but the Z71 trim, and four-wheel drive (4WD) is available. On the LS, LT, and RST, the 4WD system features an Autotrac® single-speed transfer case; the Z71, Premier, and High Country 4WD models feature a two-speed Autotrac transfer case with four-high and four-low, as well as a neutral towing capability.

All trims feature a standard mechanical limited-slip differential designed to lock the rear wheels at the same speed when it detects that one is turning faster than the other. With the Z71 trim and optional Off-Road Capability Package, you get an upgraded electronic limited-slip rear differential which leverages the power of onboard sensors to distribute torque between each of the rear wheels. With family onboard, ride quality matters. That's why the Tahoe offers Magnetic Ride Control™, which adjusts the performance of the suspension damper fluid using electro-magnetism every millisecond.

Enhance ride comfort with the optional adaptive air ride suspension, which substitutes air springs for conventional coil springs and enables automatic load leveling and either selectable or automatic suspension height settings.
