Power from the engine goes to either just the rear wheels in the standard two-wheel drive (2WD) models or all four with available four-wheel drive (4WD). When equipped with the Premier, High Country, and on the Z71 (where it’s standard), the Suburban 4WD system has an Autotrac two-speed transfer case; all other trims with 4WD get a single-speed transfer case.
