Choose between the base 2.7L turbo inline four-cylinder (I4) engine or the available TurboMax I4 with two-wheel drive (2WD) or four-wheel drive (4WD) with a single-speed Autotrac® transfer case on the WT and LT trims; the Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2 all feature the 310-horsepower TurboMax engine as standard equipment with 4WD and a two-speed Autotrac transfer case. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard with both engines.
